Historic Granville Announces Opening of the 2026 Season

Historic Granville will officially open for the 2026 season on Wednesday, March

18, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Visitors are invited to attend this special opening

day and explore a range of new and returning exhibits and experiences.

A traveling exhibition from the Tennessee State Museum and the Tennessee

Commission for the United States Semi quincentennial, titled Our American Story:

Voices from Tennessee, will be featured in the newly acquired Independence Hall.

This special exhibition complements Granville’s ongoing America 250

presentations and will be on display for a limited time only, March 18 through

March 28.

Granville’s America 250 exhibits open in Independence Hall on March 18 and

continue through October of 2026. These exhibits highlight the Revolutionary War

era, including interpretations of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the

story of Betsy Ross and the first American flag, and the history of both the

Tennessee State Flag and the United States flag. A recreated bedroom exhibit

shares the experiences of women and children during this formative period in

American history. Local landmarks such as Raulston/McKinley Stand and Walton

Road provide additional context, connecting national events to the community’s

role in the nation’s development. Vintage artifacts further enhance the historical

narrative and visitor experience.

The Granville Artisans Workshop and Gallery will also be open, showcasing the

work of local artisans. Guests are encouraged to attend the featured art show,

celebrate the creativity and talent of regional artists, and learn more about the

diverse classes and workshops planned for 2026.

Opening in the Granville Museum, Home Runs and Home Teams, a baseball

exhibit on loan from East Tennessee History Center. This special exhibit opens

March 18 and continues through October of 2026. Join us to celebrate baseball’s

deep roots in American life. More than just a game, baseball has echoed our

nation’s triumphs and trials, helping spark social change and bringing folks

together across generations and divides. From dusty small-town diamonds to big-

league dreams, these tales capture the true heart of Tennessee baseball. Whether

you’re new to the game or a lifelong fan, this exhibit is sure to be a "Home Run."

The established ten venues have a new face as we enter the year of América 250.

Make plans to hear the new stories in Sutton Homestead and view the new vintage

trucks in the Antique Car Museum. Sutton General Store will be serving delicious

lunches 11AM-2PM.

Hours of Operation Wednesday- Friday 11AM-4 PM and Saturday 11AM-5PM.
