Granville hosts 27th Annual Heritage Day

 The 27th Annual Historic Granville Heritage Day is set for May 23rd and will feature the theme “We the People”.  This year's festival will be a special occasion with the Celebration of America 250, including all the unique exhibits and events related to it.


The festival started 27th years ago with an antique car show, which has evolved into

one of Tennessee’s most renowned car shows. The event features 63 competition classes, with trophies awarded for first, second, and third place in each class. The show takes place on the banks of the Cordell Hull Lake, providing an ideal setting to showcase the elegance of antique cars. The entry fee is $20.00 per car, which includes free admission to the festival for the driver of the car.


This year's show will pay tribute to longtime antique car collector John Billingsley from Lebanon, showcasing part of his collection. John is renowned for his impressive array of unique cars. The event will also commemorate James Burton of Lebanon, a dedicated volunteer at this show and leader of the Mid-Tenn Region Antique Car Club. Some of his collection will be displayed as well. Registration for the show takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with no prior registration required. The show is located at 6800 Granville Highway, Granville. The festival also includes an Antique Tractor and Engine Show from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., honoring John Hobbs of Liberty.

Heritage Day will include the Uncle Jimmy Thompson Bluegrass Festival featuring the Old Time Fiddlers National Championship, Artisans in the Pioneer Village, Craft Booths, delicious food and several America 250 Events. Granville is presently hosting the Home Runs & Home Teams baseball traveling exhibit from the East Tennessee History Center, as well as Independence Hall, which highlights major event in the story of America.
