Historic Granville hosts the 6th Annual Mayberry Lucy Festival

Historic Granville will be hosting the 6th Annual Mayberry Lucy Festival on April 10th & 11th with two full days of great events.  This year's festival will be honoring the late Andy Griffith who would have celebrated his 100th birthday in June.  His daughter, Dixie Griffith, will lead

the celebration at the opening ceremony on April 10th at 9:30. The festival will conclude with a Grand Finale on April 11th at 5:30 p.m. which will include a wonderful dinner and a full night of entertainment by the actors and tribute artist. The finale does require reservations.   


This Festival will include many new shows including: “Remembering Andy Griffith” lead by Andy Griffith Show authors Randy Turner and Neal Brower; "Gospel Side of Elvis" by Wayne Euliss tribute artist; "Mama, Dad, Me & Classic TV" led by author Peter K. Ackerman (son of Elinor Donahue) Ellie Walker; "The Enduring Legacy of the Andy Griffith Show" conducted by Mayberry Author Randy Turner; "Life After Lucy" presented by Keith Thibodeaux (Little Ricky of I Love Lucy Show; "The First Season Stars "presented by Neal Brower; "Tribute to Lucy & Desi" presented by Carris & Jeff Ketterman tribute artists of Ricky & Lucy along with new Mainstreet in Mayberry shows. Granville is honored to have living actors of the shows as well as children of the actors.   Reservations for these shows may be made at granvilletn.com

 

The festival features other great entertainment including musical performance of the "Best of the Musical Hillbillies" at the Pruett Stage featuring Charlene Briscoe and The Darlings performing numerous shows both days. Other entertainment includes "Memories from Wally’s Service Station," "Floyd’s Two Chair Barber Shop," "Andy Still Matters. Included in your festival admission, all guests can enjoy the Mayberry Cruise-In Car Show, Here Comes Mayberry Parade, Squad Car National Obstacle Course, Lucy Look-A-Like Contest, Chocolate Candy Wrapping Contest, Lucy Trivia, Opie Look-A-Like Contest, Mayberry Trivia Contest, Flashbacks of the Andy Griffith Show and much more. 

 

The festival has become one of the major festivals in the United States of these two shows.  Granville has a permanent Mayberry Lucy Museum, Mayberry Police Cars, Mayberry Lucy Characters decorating the streets and much more.
