Historic Granville Artisans Trail has planned an exciting 2022 plan of work which engages all their Granville Artisans. On March 9th, Opening Day of 2022 season, there will be a Grand Opening of the Granville Artisans Gallery at the 1880 Sutton General Store at 10:00 a.m. Ten artisans have joined together to form the Granville Artisans Gallery which will feature wonderful handmade items that visitors may purchase. The gallery features baskets, painted gourds, art, brooms, hand forged ironworks, woodworking, hand sewn items, quilts, loom woven items and much more.
The local artisans will be offering classes to teach their skills and give people opportunity to make items. Classes will be offered in basket making on March 26, April 23, June 18 and Sept. 17, blacksmithing on April 2, April 23, October 8 and October 22, broom making on March 5, April 2, and September 24, quilting on March 10 and April 6, dutch-oven cooking on April 1 and weaving on April 30 and August 20. Granville will be offering Artisans "Meet the Maker" Months in April and October where two artisans will be demonstrating in the Pioneer Village Wednesday thru Saturday of each week.
Granville will open the 2022 Season on March 9th with the theme “Untold Stories: If These Hills Could Talk”. The Granville Exhibition Center contains new exhibits on this theme, Historic Sutton Home featuring “If These Walls Could Talk”, Antique Car Museum featuring special automobile display on this theme and Sutton Store new museum upstairs on this theme as well. The Shops of Granville now have new spring merchandise as well as new menus at Sutton General Store for lunch.
The 225 volunteers of Historic Granville have worked hard and received training to introduce you to a new Granville for 2022!
