Granville Fall Celebration: A Fun, Fall Family Event

The Granville Fall Celebration on October 5th at Historic Granville will be a full day of music of all types.  The 12th Annual Jazz on the Cumberland will feature an afternoon of

Jazz at the Mayberry Event Stage.  Beginning at 12:00, “The Jazz Alliance Big Band” featuring over 20 musicians will present a Jazz Concert.  At 1:30 pm the "Blues Brokers"

will be featured as one of the area’s most known musical groups.  The Jazz Festival will conclude at 3:00 pm with the "129th Army Band, Tennessee National Guard" bringing

patriotic music to the festival. 

 

The Grand Opening of the 2024 Scarecrow-Artisan Festival will be held at 10:00 am at the Pruett Stage.  The ceremony will also feature the Dedication of the Sutton

Corn Crib, restored Fire Wheel of the late Charles Carter. Other notable improvements are new concrete sidewalks and drive in Pioneer Village, a handicap ramp at the Williamson Cabin, lighting & wiring in the village, murals, Ragland Mule Wagon, improved Blacksmith & Basket Weaving Shop, Pottery Shop, new garage doors at the car museum and repainting of

the West End Market Signs.  There will also be the “Beyond Barn Quilts” Project Dedication during the Opening Ceremony.

 

Music will begin at the Pruett Stage at 11:00 am with a musical performed by Community Kid Z Choir of Carthage under the direction of Lynn Sharenberger. Continuing through the afternoon at 12:00 pm Lucas Collier will perform, at 1:00 pm the Smith County Men’s Choir Concert, 2:00 pm Lucas Collier Concert and 3:00 pm “Foxfire Newgrass” Bluegrass Band.  Also during the day “The Packard Family "Bluegrass Band will perform at Pioneer Cabin at Pioneer Village 11:30, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm.  The “Front Row Barber Shop Quartet” will perform in front of Daniel Barber Shop at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. The Sutton Ole Time Bluegrass Dinner Show will feature “Foxfire Newgrass” Bluegrass Band with dinner at 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm with warmup show at 6:00 pm and radio taping at 7:00 pm.  Reservations are required by calling 931-653-4151 or granvilletn.com.

 

October 5th will be the Grand Opening of the 2024 Scarecrow Festival featuring over 700 scarecrows of all types decorating the town, buildings, villages and museums.  It’s a great family event that will be open Wednesday thru Saturday during October and requires the $7.00 Tour Ticket to visit it.  This year the Pioneer Village will have new added unique scarecrows.  The Artisan Festival will also be the entire month of October featuring local artisans demonstrating at the Pioneer Village.
