Granville Heritage Day features something new for 2025. The Uncle Jimmy Thompson Bluegrass Fiddle Competition will be a national competition for the first time. As a part of the events of the day, Granville will dedicate a Music Pathways Marker in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Uncle Jimmy Thompson's performance on the first Grand Ole Opry. Granville will welcome country music icon, Bill Anderson, Keith Bilbrey, and others and WSM Radion will be broadcasting live. The show will honor Greg Hallums longtime fiddle musician.
In addition, Granville will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Sutton General Store and the 100th Anniversary of Purity Dairy. Purity has recently moved the Purity Dairy Museum to Granville. Granville's Pioneer Village will host a dozen old time artisans demonstrating their crafts, and Granville will remember community members who have passed away at a Memorial Service at Granville United Methodist Church.
Visitors will enjoy great food options at several locations, craft booths, and touring ten venues that are all included in the festival admission. Admission to the festival is $7.00 for adults with family pricing available. There will be a $5.00 fee for parking. For more information visit granvilletn.com.
