Cornbread Moonshine Festival hosts Barber Shop Quartet

The Granville Cornbread & Moonshine Festival scheduled for May 6 features a full day of unique entertainment. For the first time, a barber shop quartet will entertain at a Granville Festival. The Front Row Barber Shop Quartet will perform in front of the historic Daniel Barber Shop at 12:00 pm,1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Front Row has been singing together for seven years. All four men also sing in the choral group, Men of Harmony based in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.


Lead, Tom Armstrong, has been singing barbershop for 55 years and hails from upstate New York. He became the lead singer of Front Row four years ago. Tom and wife, Candy, currently live in Spring Hill.


Bass, Fred Kite, began his barbershop singing in Tullahoma with the Highland Rim Chorus. He is father of three and resides in Gallatin with his wife, Sally.


Tenor, Charlie Bretz, began singing with the Chorus of the Keys in Sarasota, Florida back in 1990. After growing up in Michigan, he now lives in Nashville with wife, Kim, and is the father of one son.


Baritone, Nick Buttler, started singing with Men of Harmony some 19 years ago at the youthful age of 15. Nick keeps the group singing the right notes with his education in music and perfect pitch. Born in Houston, Texas, his family soon moved to Nashville.
