Sweetn’3 and Other Professional Jazz Bands to be featured at Jazz on the Cumberland on October 2nd

The 20th Granville Fall Celebration on October 2nd will feature the 10th Annual Jazz on the Cumberland with a full day of great musical entertainment. The event will begin at Pruett Stage at 11:00 am with the following schedule: 11:00 am Jackson County Middle/High School Jazz Band, 12:00 noon; The 4 Horns, 12:30 pm; The Big Band Sound, 2:00 pm; Nightfire (129 th Army Band) and 3:15 pm, Sweetn’3. A Veterans Appreciation Service will

Be conducted at 3:00 pm.

The Fall Celebration will also feature Musical Entertainment at the Mayberry Stage with following line up of entertainment: 11:00 am & 1:00 pm The Victors Band; 12:00 and 3:00 pm Ken Underwood Concert 50’s & 60's Music and 2:00 pm Smith County Men’s Concert.

The Celebration will also feature “Untold Stories” Celebration of the 225th Anniversary of Tennessee Statehood with a Storytelling Festival at the historical Granville Presbyterian Church at 1:00 pm with the following: "For the Love of Quilts"- Janie Phillips, "Tomato and Corn Clubs"- Robbie Melton, "The Mason Jar"- Kathie Bowles and "A Side Show of the Big Show"- James Kenneth Turner. Stories of the late Dr. L. M. Freeman will be shared at the Doctors Office during the day by his granddaughter, Annette Parks.

A Old Time Craftsmen Festival Grand Opening will be on October 2nd. Craftsmen will be available all during the month of October. A schedule of craftsmen may be found on our website. On October 2, the following crafts will be demonstrated in Pioneer Village: Sorghum Making By Mennonites, Operating Grist Mill, Operating Blacksmith Shop, Basket Weaving, Pottery Making, Broom Making, Apple Cider Making, Woodworking, Chair Bottoming, Spinning Wheel Operating, Operating Loom, and Pioneer Cooking.

October 2nd will be a fun-filled day for the entire family with children's rides and activities. Also, Granville will host the Grand Opening of the 2021 Granville Scarecrow Festival entitled "Mayberry Characters on Parade" featuring the state’s largest scarecrow festival with over 500 unique scarecrows. The Granville Quilt Festival and the Ralph Maddux Memorial Motorcycle Show will add to the many activities of the day.
