Filled with history and recipes, this is a historical and regional book dwelling on the importance of bananas. The steamboats played a roll in the culinary culture of the early settlers. When the earliest settlers migrated to the Cumberland, they said they were going to The Promised Land. They named their small village Granville because many of them came from Granville County, North Carolina.
