The Christmas Season in Granville is for the whole family to enjoy. This year "Tennessee's Mayberry Town" will be decorated fit for a Hallmark Movie set and there are activities that will appeal to all ages.
The Granville Museum will host a Festival of Trees with 30 beautifully and uniquely decorated by various community groups and individuals. Stepping into the Exhibit Room will be like entering into a Christmas Wonderland.
The Sutton Homestead is beautifully decorated for the Christmas season with a
Holiday Magic" theme. With a meaningful tree in every room, you will enjoy a guided tour with a docent to tell you about each tree and the unique Christmas decorations.
Christmas Shopping December provides a great opportunity to purchase handmade and unique gifts. Staff at Sutton General Store, Granville Gift Shop, Southern Shops of Granville and Granville Broom Works will help you select something just right.
Granville is a Magical Place for Children
You’re never too old to enjoy a visit from Santa! Mark your calendars, Santa will be in Historic Granville for Country Christmas on December 11. After the Christmas Parade at 3PM, he will be outside the Granville Gift Shop and available for pictures.
The Granville Event Center will be transformed into Holiday Magic stations for Children’s activities from 12:30 –2:30 PM. Children may make an ornament to take home or prepare as a gift, participate in Christmas stories and songs, make reindeer food to sprinkle in your yard on Christmas Eve, get a glitter tattoo, enjoy a magic show by a professional magician and more.
Take your children on a walk through the streets to enjoy all the Christmas Characters of Parade. Lots of family photo opportunities available.
In addition to a hometown Christmas Parade at 3:00 PM , there will be an Antique Toy Show, all types of entertainment and shopping, and our Christmas Characters on Parade exhibit. This exhibit features over 250 hand painted characters located all up and down our beautifully decorated streets. These characters will even be illuminated so that you can drive through and enjoy the exhibit in the evening.
