T.B. Sutton Store

Just a stone's throw from the banks of the Cumberland River (now Cordell Hull Lake), stands T. B. Sutton General Store in Granville, Tennessee. Built-in 1800's, this country store has continuously served the families of the area.   In 2017, Country Living Magazine listed this store as one of the thirteen most charming country stores.  Southern Living Magazine recommended T.B. Sutton General Store as the number one store to visit during the summer of 2018.

The two-story country store’s unique style features a balcony with many products the store offered for sale during its 90 years of service. The original building has many of the same interior fixtures it had at the turn of the 20th century.  Museum-quality furnishings and memorabilia are on display.  T. B. Sutton Store is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Available to purchase are unique handmade items, toys of a past era, cookbooks, Stetson hats, Key overalls, pocketknives, old fashioned candies, caps, shirts, and other merchandise.

Reminisce at the ice cream counter with a hand-dipped ice cream cone, a root beer float, or a delightful milkshake.  Country cooking is available Wednesday through Saturday.  You may choose a meat and vegetable plate or one of the famous made-to-order sandwiches. Save room for cobbler and ice cream!  Experience Southern hospitality as you dine at the communal table.  Adjacent to the general store is a feed room converted into a dining room.  It offers family-style country cooking and accommodates groups of up to 55 by reservation.

 â€‹

From the world-famous corner stage in the general store, enjoy Tennessee's Best Bluegrass every Saturday night.  Enjoy a delicious meal served in the Sutton Store Dining Room and hear great regional bluegrass bands at the Sutton Ole Time Music Hour.  Reservations are required and tickets may be purchased on this website or by calling Sutton Store at 931-653-4151 Wednesday - Saturday.

On the upper floor of the Store, you will find the Granville Artisans' Gallery.  Currently, we have ten (10) local artisans' offering a variety of unique and creative handmade items that may be purchased.  Baskets, pottery, hand forged ironworks, woven fabric creations and so much more.
