Mayberry- Lucy Festival April 10-12, 2025

A Perfect Match: Love and Laughter

A Celebration of The Andy Griffith Show and I Love Lucy Show

Mayberry Dinner Theater

The festival kicks off on Thursday evening, April 10 with the Mayberry Dinner Theatre.

The Andy Griffith Show wasn't really about a time or a place but was more about a 'feel of an earlier time'.  Granville, known as Tennessee’s Mayberry Town, is a nostalgic small town that embodies the charm and simplicity of that lost era. With its charming streets lined with storybook homes and historic buildings, locally owned shops, museums, and a welcoming community, Granville has that Mayberry feel.

Granville like Mayberry allows people to slow down, relax on the porch, whittle and whistle, break beans, join a quilting bee, enjoy a conversation with neighbors, and gather around the dinner table for hearty food and great company. Whether you’re wandering through the ten venues or enjoying a peaceful moment by the lake, Granville is a place where time seems to slow down, evoking memories of the beloved TV show "The Andy Griffith Show," where small-town life was the heart of the community.

There is no better place to stage live performances of the Andy Griffith Show episodes than in a town that captures the same charm and spirit as the fictional world of Mayberry. It’s a perfect setting to bring those beloved moments to life. The local players are not trained performers but community volunteers ready to lend a helping hand and help a neighbor. This small town is a haven for music lovers and live performances.

Granville presents the Mayberry-Lucy Festival visitors an opportunity to attend a live performance of the Mayberry Dinner Theater with country-cooking, homespun characters focused on comedic and lighthearted country themes and downhome common sense of Andy’s wisdom. Adapted from episodes of the Andy Griffith Show, the Granville Mayberry Dinner Theater is sure to entertain.

April 10 and 11, The Granville Mayberry Dinner Theatre presents adaptations from two episodes “A Plaque for Mayberry” honoring Ken Junkin, Otis Tribute Artist, and “The Fun Girls” recognizing Fun Girl Tribute Artists, Dixie Griffith and Michelle Bryson. Each night there will be a 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM performance. During intermission, entertainment will be provided by Mayberry Tribute Artists.

Reservations for Mayberry Dinner Theater may be made at www.granvilletn.com or by calling Sutton General Store at 931-653-4151. Seating is Limited and Reservations are Required for the play.
