Historic Granville will be celebrating the 25th Annual Granville Country Christmas “Christmas Traditions in a Riverboat Town” on December 9th. During the day musical performances at the Granville United Methodist Church will feature The Juliets of Mt. Juliet who will perform two musicals entitled “White Christmas in a Hallmark Movie Town." They will be performing songs of the Andrew Sisters and are known for their great musical talents. Performances are scheduled for 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. In addition, the Granville United Methodist Church Choir and Soloist, Carolyn Cathey of Gallatin, will present “Hallmark Musical Christmas Tradition” at 12:15 pm.
The Christmas Festival will feature "Holiday Magic for Children" from 12:30 to 2:30 pm at the Granville Event Center. Roger the Clown will be performing “A Christmas Experience for Children,” and there will activities for children, including making Christmas ornaments, mixing up a batch of reindeer food, Christmas songs, glitter tattoos and more. The Granville Christmas Parade is scheduled for 3:00 pm, and after the parade, children will have an opportunity to visit with and have photos made with Santa in front of the Granville Gift Shop.
A full day of Christmas activities are included with your festival admission and feature a Festival of Trees at the Granville Museum, Holiday Christmas Tours of Historic Home entitled “Glitter and Glow of an Avon Christmas” and Christmas at the 1820s Cabin in our Pioneer Village. Children of all ages will enjoy an Antique Toy Show with a theme of “Toy Chests from our Past.” Craft booths, artisan demonstrations, great food and shopping will round out a full day of family fun.
Granville Sutton Ole Time Music Hour Bluegrass Dinner Show is featuring Christmas Bluegrass Shows during December. Craig Morris & King Cotton will be performing that evening. Reservations are required for the bluegrass shows, and tickets may be purchased on this website or by calling 931-653-4151.
The December 9th festival is from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm with a $7.00 festival admission and children 12 & under are free. There is no charge for parking.
Historic Granville is open Wednesday through Friday 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and Saturday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm with special Christmas events through December 30th. For additional information not found on our website, please call 931-653-4151.
