The Third Annual Mayberry Lucy Day on April 14th and 15th will have a new I Love Lucy focus as Carrie & Jeff Ketterman return as professional impersonators of Desi and Lucy from the iconic television show.
A new feature on April 14th at 4:00 pm at the Granville United Methodist Church will be a program entitled "I Love Lucy Memories" presented by Carrie & Jeff. The Kettermans will incorporate a video into their special performance on the 14th and will also be performing at the Mayberry Dinner Theater on April 14th & 15th along with the Sutton Store Players who portray characters from "The Andy Griffith Show."
The Kettermans will begin the day on the 15th with a 10:00 am performance at their Lucy Trailer followed by an 11:00 am program at the Mayberry Stage with a new Lucy Look-A-Like Contest and Lucy Trivia Contest. At 2:30 pm at the Mayberry Stage, they will perform again and their performance will include a Chocolate Candy Wrapping Contest and the Grape Stomping Contest. I Love Lucy fans are encouraged to visit Granville in their best Lucy costumes and come prepared to participate with other visitors in the other contests during the day as Lucy comes alive in Historic Granville.
Granville has one of the largest I Love Lucy Museums in the country where the I Love Lucy story is told in a unique way with historical items, as well as a display of rooms from the television set replicated in great detail as it originally appeared on the show. Following a visit to the I Love Lucy Museum, visitors will find an I Love Lucy Gift Shop where Lucy collectibles may be purchased by fans of the show.
The I Love Lucy Museum is made possible by Richard and Linda Cox who donated their 30-year collection to Granville. You will have the opportunity to meet Richard and Linda on April 15th to talk about the many items in the collection.
