The Carter-McKinley Families Reunion

First Gathering in 25 Years in Historic Granville, Tennessee

Many descendants of Charles Carter II (1760-1830) and Robert McKinley (1762-1834) live today in Tennessee and especially in Jackson, Putnam and Smith Counties, as well as throughout the Upper Cumberland area.  Two marriages brought these two families together in the early 20th century, and on Labor Day weekend we will come together again.

You are invited to attend on Saturday, August 31, 2024, with programs and events beginning at 10 am at the Granville Event Center and continuing throughout the day.  Then on Sunday, September 1, we will begin at the 11 am worship service at the Granville United Methodist Church, with a catered lunch and afternoon program to follow at the Event Center.

You may be a direct McKinley or Carter descendant; you may be part of a family whose ancestors married into one of these two family lines; you may simply enjoy family history; or you may want to learn if your family’s history intersects with the history of these two families!  All of these reasons (and more) are reasons for you to be a part of this fun celebration of heritage and life.
